Cockayne hat-trick sees Ammies Under-11s to handsome win at West Exe

West Exe Warriors 1, Exmouth Amateurs 3

Exmouth Amateurs Under-11s were very good value for the win in this Exeter and District Youth League Division Two clash.

West Exe started really well passing the ball around, but it was Ammies who scored first through Lewis Cockayne.

The hosts continued to look the better side, but Ammies stood firm in defence and doubled their lead again through Cockayne to head into half-time with the advantage.

It was much the same after the break with the hosts playing some nice football, attacking without being able to get the ball past Ammies excellent glovesman Harry Wright.

At the other end Ammies continued to carry a real threat in the final third and, from one such raid, Cockayne struck to seal his hat-trick.

West Exe did get a deserved goal in the latter stages, netting from a penalty, but Ammies were good value for the points.
