ELLESHA CARNEY grabbed a hatrick as Exmouth Amateur under-13 girls went nap for the third week running, beating LFC Sparta 5-4.Ammies made a bright start and from the kick off and in the first attack Megan Marks-Chadwick saw her shot kept out by the width of an upright. The ball was cleared and a Sparta striker hit a long range shot that Ammies' keeper, Beth Acca, tipped onto a post. The game continued to flow end to end and the visitors claimed the opening score on 11 minutes. Within four minutes Ammies were level as Carney opened her account and they were ahead on 24 minutes when Manfy Sharpe's powerful surge from midfield ended with a fine shot that deceived the visiting keeper, but Sparta were level just before the break. Ammies were again the quickest out of the dressing rooms in the second half and were ahead again within two minutes. A long ball was played out of defence by Beth Jones for Carney to latch onto and score her second with a clinical finish from ten yards. After a period of end to end action, it was again Ammies who scored with the impressive Lauren Tucker winning the ball deep inside her own half before playing a one two with Hanna Davey, after which she sent the ball up over the top of the Sparta back line for Steer to run on and finish in style.Once again the visitors battled back and with ten minutes to go they made it 4-3 but just three minutes later the margin was back to two goals as Carney crashed home her third of the morning. Sparta had the final word with a 4th goal of their own but Ammies took the points and continue to be 100% in their league campaign this season.
