Budleigh Salterton played three games in seven days last week and showed a return of four points from two home matches and one on the road, writes Alan Beer.

The trio of matches began with a 1-1 Greenway Lane draw with Exwick Villa. The Robins goal broke the deadlock when it arrived courtesy of then boot of Karl Riddell in the second half, but the Exeter side levelled to depart with a share of the spoils.

In midweek high-flying Teignmouth Town were the Greenway Lane opposition and the South Devon side were despatched with a 3-0 score line in favour of the Robins.

Just as the previous game the first half produced no goals and, once again it was Riddell who opened the scoring early in the second half. Seven minutes later the lead was doubled when Jack Greenslade netted and the win was sealed when substitute Ryan Howells scored inside the last ten minutes.

Saturday’s trip to table-topping Galmpton produced a performance to be quickly forgotten! For the first third of the contest there was precious little between the teams. Galmpton took a 2-0 lead into the break and in creased it shortly after the re-start.

Greenslade pulled one back, but that was as good as it got for the Robins who went on to make a number of basic defensive mistakes that were punished with further goals by the home side to leave Budleigh going home with a 7-1 defeat.

On Saturday Budleigh travel to Okehampton (3pm).
