Budleigh Under-16s win at CS Eagles and Bochenski nets another clean sheet

CS Eagles 0, Budleigh Salterton 4

Budleigh Salterton Unded-16s maintained their challenge at the top of the table with a high level of skill to overcome the Uffculme-based side, writes SpursTom.

Surprisingly following their long journey, it was the visitors, fielding a five-man midfield, who began the better, moving the ball around well, but without offering too much threat to the home goal.

Midway into the first period the host’s defence was breached, Luke Bland fed James Clarke whose outside the box shot swooped over the keeper.

More good combination work resulted in Billy Lorains doubling the score before the break. The substitution system allowed the Robins to introduce all four from the bench, causing confusion in the home ranks, this benefited Owen Cressell his strike dipping under the glovesman’s body for the third. The final Robins goal was a just reward for a fine individual shift from Sam Smith.

Make no mistake Budleigh did not have it all their own way, the young Eagles kept going forcing Scott Bochenski to be on the alert, pulling off some fine saves to ensure he returned home with a deserved clean sheet.
