Budleigh Salterton 3, CS Eagles 2

There are several adjectives I could use to describe this Under-15 encounter at Greenway Lane last Saturday morning, the most popular one to be mentioned by those present was exciting, writes SpursTom.

Congratulations must be given to both teams for the manner in which they conducted themselves, and to the official in the middle of it all, well done everyone.

We may have had to wait a long time for a goal, but when it eventually happened we were treated to three within six minutes.

Budleigh’s Russell Williams got the ball rolling with a neat finish on 32 minutes, this was followed by an equalizer from Harvey Broom on 36 mins. Two minutes later Joe Taylor restored the home advantage to send the Robins into the break with the advantage.

The second period saw both teams pressing for supremacy, we had some skilful moments, missed opportunities and plucky defending, all appreciated by those in attendance. A wonder strike by Harvey Groom brought the visitots back on level terms this after 71 minutes. With time running out, Russell Williams won the race against his marker in the 78th to be on target. Yes, like in the first half Budleigh had found the net two minutes from time, and hung on to win 3–2. With so many good performances out there, Scott Bochemski just edged out Joe Taylor to be Budleigh’s man of the match.

Robin’s squad: Scott Bochemski, Nathan Penhallrick, Owen Cresswell, Max Goodesmith, Brett Lines, Ewan Anderdson, Joe Taylor, Tom Rockey, Billy Lorains, Alex Larsson-Carter, Russell Williams, Josh Edwards, Josh Mimgo, Joe Walker.
