Budleigh Salterton Under-15s banked four points from a Thursday evening 1-1 draw with Sidmouth Town Raiders and a Saturday morning 3-2 win over Moors Youth, writes SpursTom.

The Thursday night Greenway Lane contest had been seen as a match which would net the title chasing young Robins three points, but it was not to be as the Raiders fully deserved their share of the spoils and would indeed have taken all three points had Budleigh goalkeeper Ieuan Brockway not made a wonderful penalty save in the second half.

Matt Shaw-Smith had scored the first half goal then sent Budleigh into the break leading 1-0. Raiders levelled after the break and then came that Brockway penalty save.

On Saturday morning the Robins had to work hard before deservedly banking all three points from a 3-2 win over Moors Youth.

In a frenetic start, there were two own goals – one for each side – inside the first 10 minutes!

In the 11th minute Matt Shaw-Smith restored the home lead, netting after some good work by Liam O’Brien and Ryan Fell.

Moors hit back to level in the 25th minute, but just three minutes later the fifth goal of the game arrived, scored by Will White from the penalty spot with the kick awarded after he had been felled in the area.

This turned out to be the final score though it was an entertaining end to end second half with neither side being able to find the back of the net.
