Budleigh Under-14s added yet more goals to their ever increasing total in a goal-laden season, beating Honiton 7-0 to maintain their Exeter and District Youth League Division Two title bid, writes SpursTom.

It was not all one-way, despite the score line and the Budleigh defence did sucu a sound job that gloves man Nick Eveleigh spent a large section of the match as a spectator.

The match, played in brilliant sunshine started quietly, coming to life with the Robins putting four attempts away between the 12th and 30th minutes for a comfortable 4-0 interval lead. The commencement of the second period saw Honiton on the attack, but without success as the visiting keeper was well protected by Rory Bland and his fellow defenders.

Budleigh regained the initiative, struck the woodwork three times, and added three further goals.

Adam Wilkinson and Jack May both scored twice and there were single goals from Thomas Blackham, Matt Garnett and Sam Balbi.

The Robins will be hoping for a similar result at home when the two teams meet again tonight (Thursday) at Greenway Lane.
