Budleigh Salterton Under-14s were emphatic 9-0 winners over Beacon Knights in a Exeter and District Youth League meeting at Greenway Lane, writes SpursTom.

The Robins dished up a whirlwind start, with Adam Wilkinson scoring after just 45 seconds! Wilkinson was to add two more before the break to complete a first half hat-trick. Jai Ferguson powered home the hosts other goal that send them in with a 4-0 lead and had it not been for the exploits of Knights goalkeeper Jack Gooding, the lead would have been greater! After the break Wilkinson took his tally to four whilst other goals came from Elliot Mann, Jack May, Joe Rockey and Sam Balbi. Wilkinson may get the glory for his goals, but it was mainly down to the hard work of the midfielders, and a solid defence marshalled by Rory Bland, that provided the foundation for this splendid Robins result. A sixth win in seven Division Two outings means the young Robins sit three points clear of second placed Honiton Town in the table.

It’s cup day this Saturday so no league action for the Robins who play next at Brixington Blues on Saturday, November 29.
