Budleigh Salterton's home game is ON, but both Exmouth Town games are OFF

For the second successive Saturday in March Exmouth Town are without a game after their South West Peninsula League Premier Division game at Cullompton Rangers fell foul of a waterlogged pitch in Mid Devon.
However, Budleigh Salterton’s SWPL Eastern Division game against Appledore has beaten the rain and goes ahead with a 3pm kick-off.
Town, who saw no action between December 9 and February 10, a period of nine weeks, then played on three successive February Saturday’s before this latest spell of inactivity.
They are not alone for, by mid-morning on the second Saturday in March 37 games in the Macron Devon and Exeter League and in the county cup semi-finals, had been postponed as had 13 matches in the South West Peninsula League, including Town’s visit to Cully Rangers.
With the FA keen to see leagues complete their fixtures by May 5, it means that from next Saturday (March 17) there are just nine Saturday match days remaining in the campaign. Exmouth Town are better off than most for they have only 11 games left in their season. That’s in stark contrast to the 22 league games that Bodmin Town have to squeeze into their end of season run-in.
One of those 37 Macron League games to be lost was the Exmouth Town Reserves home meeting with Witheridge, as were the games at Woodbury (v East Budleigh), Exmouth Spartans (v Sidmouth Town thirds), Sidmouth Town fourths (v Okehampton Argyle) and Otterton (v Honiton Town thirds).
There is local action on March 10 that has beaten the weather with Budleigh Salterton’s home game against Appledore going ahead. Kick –off at Greenway Lane is 3pm.
