Budleigh Salterton are the Easter toast of East Devon after they became the first team to inflict a South West Peninsula League, Eastern Division defeat on Exmouth Town.

The Robins won 2-1 and then heard that their victory, coupled with a defeat for Newton Abbot Spurs, meant they would go into the Easter weekend sitting second in the table behind Exmouth Town to make ait a glorious local one-two at the summit of the table.

Second bottom Crediton United lost 3-0 at home to Okehampton and fourth bottom Plymstock United were beaten 2-1 at home by Totnes and Dartington. Exeter Civil Service and Alphington shared two goals whilst Stoke Gabriel kept their title bid alive with a 2-1 success at Galmpton and Teignmouth Town won the South Devon derby at Newton Abbot Spurs by the odd goal in five.
