On Saturday at Greenway Lane, visiting Tiverton Town increased their chances of capturing the Fresha League Premier Division top honour by inflicting another defeat on basement club Budleigh Salterton, coming away with an eleven nil victory, writes SpursTom.

The main destroyer was former Feniton striker David O’Connor who netted no fewer than six times. His, and Tiverton’s second being the 100th league goal conceded by the Robins this term!

Adam Wakeley and Thomas Tricker also scored first half goals to leave Tivvy 5-0 up at the break.

Budleigh’s Man of the Match Darren Everest must have come off at full-time with a headache for three times he headed further scoring attempts off the line! will surely have a headache after three headed goal-line clearances (all part of his man of the match performance for the hosts).

After the interval, besides O’Connor, Isaac Furness, Ben Ashford and Jules Emati-Emati added their names to the score-sheet as six more goals were put pass the home defence. It was the expected result between two clubs where there is a large gulf between the qualities of the squads they are able to assemble.
