Budleigh Salterton 1, University 2

Budleigh slipped off top spot after a disappointing afternoon in front of the Greenway Lane faithful.

The students exacted sweet revenge for the defeat the Robins dished when the pair met in Exeter earlier in the season.

It was the games outstanding individual, Magnus Assmundson who opened the scoring when he curled a 25-yard free-kick round the wall and past Adrian Pullen in the home goal with what proved to be the only goals of a closely contested first half.

Ten minutes after the re-start Budleigh levelled when Bret Wright rifled the ball home from 20-yards.

The winning goal owed much to the quality of Assmundson as his delightfully flighted near post corner was headed home.

The Robins were always in the game and came closest to levelling again when George Pannel saw his shot well held by the visiting keeper.

Budleigh have no game this Saturday.
