Budleigh girls in cup shoot-out win

Budleigh Salterton Under-13 girls have booked a place in the final of the Sportslighting Devon FA Cup after a dramatic penalty shoot-out success over Brixham, writes SpursTom.

The teams played out normal time without a goal between them and that was also the case at the end of extra time. So a penalty shoot-out was used to determine who would bag that coveted final place at the Devon FA headquarters, Coach Road, Newton Abbot on Thursday, May 10, (7.15pm) when the opposition will be either Ivybridge Town or Plymouth Aspire.

The Budleigh girls are no strangers to the drama of a penalty shoot-out as they had eased their way into the last four with shoot-out success in the previous round of the competition.

The youngsters to hold their nerve in the semi-final shoot-out were: Lucy Spiller, Amy Leadbeater, Bethany Browring and Mille Hardman.

There was no individual Player of the Match award, but that was simply because the management were quick to say post match that the whole team deserved the accolade for their collective contribution to a famous success!

The Budleigh squad for the semi-final was: Millie Hardman, Lily Barnsley, Lucy Spiller, Faith Holder, Hattie Real, Poppy Avery, Tilly Avery, Georgia Curtis, Bethany Browring, Fleur Larsson-Carter, Coco Goodbody-Stanard, Yasmin Levy and Amy Leadbeater.
