Brixington United Under-12s made a flying start in the new season with a 5-2 win against Feniton.

George Pritchard opened the scoring, turning in a speculative shot from Joe Graham. One became two thanks to a fine individual goal from Liam O’Brien, cutting in from the right before despatching his shot low into the corner.

Feniton struck back with a headed goal from a corner before Joe Graham restored the two goal advantage, firing in his shot from the edge of the box after some good build up work from Joseph Vincent.

After the break Freddie Cotton made it 4-1 with a goal direct from a corner kick, before Ryan Fell, playing his first competitive game for the side, scored after a good run which saw him beating the last defender, rounding the keeper and firing in from a tight angle.

Feniton were not beaten yet and scored their second 10 minutes from the end. They continued to pressurise United and forced Ieuan Brockway into a fine save tipping a pile-driver of a shot around his post.

Joe Tozer and George Gelling have begun to forge a great defensive partnership backed up by the tough tackling Jayden Gore. The midfield duo of Joseph Vincent and Ryan Daffin worked tirelessly all through the match winning the ball and starting attack after attack.

United boss Mike Graham said: “It was a fantastic team performance all round with some great football being played in the true spirit of the game.”
