Brixington Blues Under-16s net derby delight with win over United

Brixington Blues Under-16s won the Exmouth derby, and with something to spare, scoring three before times before half-time.

Cameron Brown, Harry Gibbings and Jay Jackson had the game won for Blues long before the goal of the game, a fine individual effort from Ryan Pym in the second half.

Ryan Hill was responsible for the Blues clean sheet and the victory takes the team to within a point of the summit of the Division Two table.

Boss Steve Gibbings said: “The lads played really well and showed just why they are unbeaten to date this league season. We have got ourselves into a good position and can look forward to next year with real optimism.”

Blues face an exciting weekend in January when they go head to head with the only other unbeaten Division Two side, Seaton, on January 10, in the last four of the plate competition and the day after they meet Bideford AFC in the last eight of the Devon county cup. Both matches are being played at their Withycombe Archery Club home pitch.
