Brixington Blues Under-12s cemented their top four berth in the Exeter and District Youth League Division Two table with a fine all-round performance that saw them to a 3-0 win over Crediton United, writes Alan Diprose.

Blues made a lively start and early chances were crafted thanks to the efforts of striker Will White, Tom Humphry and Finnley Doyle-Stott, the latter having a splendid game, causing the visitors no end of problems.

At the other end of the pitch Will Cooper had a rare game in goal and was protected well by the defensive trio of Luke Buck, Matthew Rye and Barna Hudacsek.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 28th minute with White applying a slick finish to a fine run. Straight after the break Sam Diprose saw his shot cannon back off the upright, but a minute later he found the back of the net to double the home lead. Max Rickards went fired just over after taking a good ball from Jake Diprose before Sam Diprose scored again to complete the scoring.

The Blues defence were superb throughout and the Man of the Match award went to left back Barna Hudacsek who’s heading and overall play was of the highest order.
