Brixington Blues Under-12s hit Feniton for six

Brixington Blues Under-12s put Feniton to the sword, beating them 6-0 at their Acland Park home, writes Alan Diprose.

With both teams went into the Exeter and District Youth League match in god form, but it was Feniton who started brightly, forcing Blues’ stand-in gloves man Tom Humphry into making a number of smart early saves.

Blues carried a threat on the counter, but Feniton gave as good as they got which meant lots of work for skipper Luke Buck and his fellow defenders Matthew Rye and Scott Simpson-Currie.

The breakthrough arrived in the 26th minute when Isaac Davies crossed for Will White to fire Blues into the lead with what proved to be the only goal of the first half.

During the break Blues swapped goalkeepers and Will Cooper too over between the posts They found a higher gear in the second period and doubled the lead shortly after Davies had struck an upright when White notched his second.

Jake Diprose volleyed narrowly over from a corner before White accepted a pass from Sam Diprose to complete his hat-trick.

Sam Diprose slotted the fourth home with his left foot before Finnley Doyle-Stott and a Tom Humphry header rounded off a great day for the Blues with the last two goals.

The Man of the Match award went to Luke Buck for his commanding performance at centre back. On Saturday Blues travel to Colyton to face the new division leaders.
