Brixington Blues Under-10s were good value for a 4-2 win at West Hill Wasps.

The Blues’ youngsters travelled for their latest matches to a bitterly cold Hemyock, but they warmed the travelling faithful up with a superb all-round display. However, they had to recover from a sluggish start. Playing up the slope, Carrick Howard and Tom Rowsell took the game to Wasps whilst Jake Haggerty and Jonty Wright formed a solid back line.

Zac Brown, Howard and Rowsell all had early chances, but it was from a Alex Bowyer cross that the Blues opened their account; Brown tucking the ball away for the opener. A deflected corner late on in the half saw the Wasps draw level. Howard set up the opening goal of the second half finding the head of Bowyer who rattled the ball into the back of the net with a fine header. Wasps responded with a class goal of their own to tie things up, but with Ethan Beverley and Jake Howarth working hard the Blues started to dominate once more. Haggerty struck with a fine individual effort to edge the blues in front once more before Brown put the result beyond doubt with the Blues fourth. Charlie Precious was named the Blues Man of the Match.
