Brixington Blues Under-10 were 8-1 winners when they faced Colyton Rebels in an Exeter and District Youth League game.

Playing with a new formation and with Lewis Fulls skippering the side, Blues were quickly into their stride and, following a neat interchange between Zac Brown and Alex Bowyer, the former headed Blues into the lead.

Goalkeeper Oliver Kelly was responsible for the assist for the second goal when he released right back Jake Haggerty and the speedy defender rifled the ball home from distance.

With Carrick Howard and Jonty Wright linking well down the left side and from one such sortie Fulls was close to netting after a cross from Jake Howarth.

Wright won the ball in defence to set off Ethan Beverley his pass picking out Fulls who tucked away the third and Brown added another to make it 4-0 at the interval.

Colyton made a bright start to the second half, but Blues held firm and the fifth goal arrived when Charlie Precious threaded the ball through to Thomas Rowsell and he finished with aplomb.

Howard made it six and Bowyer netted the seventh before Fulls completed the scoring.

The battling home side bagged a late, and deserved, consolation.
