BRIXINGTON Blues got the better of Brixington United although the final score line does not reflect the much improved performance from United since the last time the pair locked horns.

It was not until the 12th minute that the Blues got their noses in front, with new signing Dylan Pearce providing the cross for leading scorer James Clarke to net.

Clarke doubled the advantage five minutes later and, with the first half drawing to a close, it became 3-0 when Pearce drilled home low past the keeper.

There was still time for two further goals as Pearce latched on to a massive down-field clearance by Blues' keeper Connor McDonald to smash home number four and a first half nap hand was completed when Cameron Deighton provided a superb header from a left wing Pearce cross.

In the second half, keeper turned striker Connor McDonald got Blues 'sixth, lifting the ball over the keeper from Pearce's cross, then Deighton helped himself to his second of the game, volleying yet another Pearce cross low under the keeper.

Ryan Ellis then got in on the act against his former team, scoring Blues' eighth, before McDonald got on the end of Seb Richards' cross to complete the scoring in the final minute.

Blues the winners at 9-0 but United can hold their heads high for a battling performance.
