SENIOR Football teams are getting ready to launch themselves into a new campaign but, for some of our the area's youth players, the season simply does not end!

Each year there is a regular circuit of 6-a-side competitions played around the South West and one of the most recent was that held at South West Peninsula League side, Cullompton Rangers.

Brixington Blues Under-14 made the trip up the M5 motorway to Mid Devon and returned with the trophy after winning five of their six group games to qualify for the knock-out stages.

In the last eight they were paired with Tiverton side Moors, who they brushed aside before tackling, and defeating, Kentisbeare in the semi-finals.

This set up a final meeting with Perry Street that the Blues boys won 2-0.

The Blues lads will now have a short break before getting stuck into a new season as an Under-15 side.

The team, coached by Aarron Denny, comprised of; Connor Gilby, Ryan Bunn, Harry Douglas, Jordan Bennington, James Byrne, Jacob Tinsley. Picture
