Brixington Blues U10s made cup progress with a 4-1 win over Axminster and birthday boy Ned O’Mahoney was the star of the show scoring a hat-trick.

O’Mahoney fired Blues into an early lead and, with Isaac Wykes, Oliver Dawkins and Ryan McCann combining well it seemed as if Blues would take their lead into the interval.

However, against the run of play, Axminster levelled, but early in the second half O’Mahoney restored the Blues lead before Harry Tooby provided an excllent assist for Josh Lawrence to make it 3-1.

The final goal was a terrific team effort involving Dawkins and Lawrence prior to O’Mahoney completing his hat-trick and seal Blues a deserved place in the next round of the cup.

Blues line-up: Ryan McCann, Frank Shelton, Ned O’Mahoney, Charlie Cain, Oliver Dawkins, Harry Batten, Josh Lawrence, Harry Tooby, Evan Clarke (gk), Isaac Wykes.
