EXMOUTH Beach Boys went down to another depressing defeat as they went down 4-3 to Victoria Inn, writes Roger Rixson.

It seems an age ago that Beach Boys were flying high, sitting proudly top of their Sunday League Division for a full four months but now they find themselves with a battle to ensure a top half finish to the campaign.

Sloppy defending allowed Victoria Inn to take a lead but Jamie Alford quickly restored parity but further schoolboy errors in the defensive third gifted the opposition a 3-1 half time lead.

A half-time team talk from Emma Dobrijevic seemed to make a difference for, shortly after the re-start, Jamie Davidson had halved the deficit with a close range effort.

Despite then going on the offensive, they could not find an equaliser and the next goal was scored by Victoria Inn to put them 4-2 ahead. With a quarter of the contest remaining Colin Stevens came off the bench to score his 2nd of the campaign but it proved to be too little, too late and Beach Boys were eventually beaten by the odd goal in seven.
