After a two-week break Budleigh Salterton U14s were back with a bag full of goals as local rivals Exmouth United were put under the hammer, writes Spurs Tom.

The star of the show was Sam Balbi with six goals. In difficult weather conditions, the home side went behind as early as the fourth minute with Budleigh’s opening goal coming from captain of the day Balbi.

As the divisional leaders took control, midfielder Matt Garnett played a significant part with his assists in three of the seven first-half goals.

In the second half a further nine goals came from rampant Budleigh as the basement club had no answer for the onslaught.

For the visitors, midfielder Thomas Blackham gave the performance his manager hoped for and goal keeper Nick Eveleigh swapped his gloves for an outfield position and showed his capability.

Adam Wilkinson (3), James Bridge (2) Eveleigh (2) all netted. The remaining three coming from Jack May, Thomas Blackham and an own-goal.

Besides having to cope with wind, it was a quiet morning for the Robins’ defence.
