EXMOUTH Amateurs boss Dion Newcombe was at a loss to understand how his first team lost to Alphington after dominating long periods of the game.

Both Alphington goals came from basic errors and Ammies managed a goal, only via a penalty from Shaun Coulam. On the other pitch, Ammies second team were beaten 5-0 by Uplowman.

There are no games at Warren View this week; in cup action, the thirds have a bye in their competition and the firsts and seconds travel to Culm Utd and South Zeal, respectively.

The Ammies third team travelled to Feniton for their league game and secured a convincing victory not reflected in the 1-0 score line. Ammies' midfield dominated the first half, but were unable to turn this advantage into goals.

An injury early in the first half forced a tactical change, which increased the intensity on the Feniton goal. Ammies dominated and a free kick from Paul Crocock was only partly cleared and Craig Black hit an unstoppable shot into the net.
