Exmouth Town continued their excellent pre-season with 5-0 Friday night Southern Road win over visiting Newton Abbot Spurs.

The South Devon side were runners-up last season in the South West Peninsula League East Division, but withdrew their application for promotion. Town boss Kevin Hill experimented with a 4-2-3-1 formation against a youthful visiting outfit.

After a tight start town broke the deadlock with a sweet left footed drive from outside the box from Nathan Cooper in the 28th minute.

Town then took control from a tidy finish from Ace High just before half time.

In the second half Tow and two more Ace High goals saw the striker completed his hat-trick and put Town four up. Jimmy Hinds completed the scoring late on.

At the back, Town goalkeeper Rob Powell marshalled his defence well to keep a deserved clean sheet.

Town are back in action next Saturday (August 4) when they take on London-based Upton Park in a contest that kicks off at 5pm.
