FOOTBALLTHE Village football team at Woodbury had something to celebrate in a recent game as they fielded a team that included a father and his three sons! All four of the Bishop clan have been signed on for the side this season, but the opportunity for the quartet to all take to the field at the same time had not presented itself until the visit of Westexe when, on the morning of the match, the regular keeper pulled out. That left Gerald Bishop, then a week short of his 50th birthday, donning the goal keepers gloves to take to the field alongside sons Casey (25), Tommy (21) and Oliver (17).The game itself was less memorable for the actual result as the home side lost to the Tiverton based outfit 3-0, but the occasion itself will live for ever in the memory of the Bishop family.Dad Gerald said: "This was my dream come true as I had played with my two eldest sons in my playing days with Exmouth Amateurs but I never thought I would get the chance to play a league game with all three. It really was an occasion to cherish.".
