As far as the Ladies’ results this year went it was Angela Fish’s show. Fantastic bowling, fantastic performance, writes Pat Pearson.
Angie’s greater experience proved a little too much for her opponent, Bobbie Vanstone, in the Singles Championship and Angie won 21-3, but it was a closer game than the score indicated.
Diane Dixon challenged for the 2 Wood, but again Angie dominated, winning 18-5 and in the 106 against Avril Barratt it was a 106-58 victory for Angie, the in-form import from Somerset!
There is still one more competition – the Handicap Singles that Angie is involved in, against Ann Cottle, but this match has been postponed due to illness – and there’s more!
In addition to her club successes, Angie won the Devon Ladies Over-5s County Singles Championship by 21 shots to 13. Congratulations from all Budleigh members top a worthy champion.
In the Otter Cup final it was a very close match all the way between Janice Brace and Elizabeth Cole until the last 5 ends when Elizabeth scored 8 shots to win 21-11.
A great introduction to club competitions for Susan Blackwell when she and skip Maggie Dance defeated Bobbie Vanstone and Joan Shaw (skip) by 27 shots to 19 in the Ladies’ Pairs.
