IN A very competitive DCLBA Benevolent Triples, played last week over three days, Jill Perrin, Angela Denner and Jean Bridge battled through to the semi-finals before being eliminated by a team from Rock Park, North Devon, writes Mary Ann Dowrick.

IN A very competitive DCLBA Benevolent Triples, played last week over three days, Jill Perrin, Angela Denner and Jean Bridge battled through to the semi-finals before being eliminated by a team from Rock Park, North Devon, writes Mary Ann Dowrick.

In club competitions, Nikki Fiddimore beat Debbie Fox in the Madeira Cup semi final.

In club pairs, Jan Roberts and partner Margaret Mahon were taken to an extra end before winning a cliff-hanger by a single shot against Sandra Mott and Jan Worsfold.

Sue Harriott beat Pat Harris in the semi-final of the Ladies Singles championship.

The stage is now set for finals week-end, August 29th and 30th when a feast of talented bowlers should keep spectators engrossed in what promises to be some close matches.

Barbara Williams will take on Nikki Fiddimore in the Madeira Cup, Sandra Mott will meet Jill Perrin in the Blackmore Cup and Sue Harriott will face Sandi Cox in the Club Handicap.

In the Three Wood Singles, Liz Smerdon is matched against Sandra Mott and, finally, in the Two Wood Singles, Eileen Bagley will take on Pat Harris.
