THE Exmouth Snooker league has a new champion.
Alan Farrant was crowned king of the local baize after he prevailed in a thrilling seven frame final against Mark Rock.
The pair clashed at the Cranford Club and certainly produced a superb exhibition of high quality snooker.
The pair shared the first six frames to stand at 3-3 and at no time was there ever any more than a single frame between them.
However, as is so typical of any such close encounter it was only after an uncharacteristic error that one of them took the upper hand.
In the deciding frame Rock made the slip, Farrant took full advantage.
Farrant put together what would prove to be a match winning break of 51 and the 47 year old from east Budleigh went on to win the title for the 8th time which leaves him just one shy of the record of nine titles, held by Jonathan Smith.
