Exmouth Town 3rds went down to a 2-0 defeat to Falcons at Uplowman in Division 4 East of the Devon and Exeter League.
The Falcons have been challenging at the top all season and a tough ask for Town got even tougher with six new faces in the side after a spate of injury and illness.
In that context, Town did a great job to dominate for long periods until a controversial penalty was brilliantly saved by Exmouth captain Ben Vine
The midfield trio of Tommy Evans, Jack Silk and Isaac Kent were excellent for Town and it was a cruel blow when Falcons broke the deadlock from a corner.
An opportunist lob made it 2-0 and, although Town piled on the pressure for the remaining 25 minutes, it was not to be their day.
