Exmouth Tennis Club has had a highly successful tennis season with two of their four teams coming first in their division and the possibility of the Men’s A team coming second.

In Division Five the mixed team won all their matches to win the title and gain promotion and the ladies’ team won nine of their 12 matches in Division Five to win their title and also gain promotion.

The Men’s A team are awaiting the result of the match between Tipton St John and Exeter Golf and County Club to find out whether they have gained promotion to Division Two.

The teams have been well supported - the Men’s A team having a regular squad with a large number of players supporting the other teams.

So, it has been a really successful season for Exmouth -the remaining team - the Men’s B fought hard to avoid relegation, but successfully retained their place in Division Six, finishing three points clear of the relegation zone.

The teams hope to have another successful season in 2015 and are holding regular team practices for all team players during the winter.

The club are keen to commend the hard work of the captains, Pete Hutcheson, Matt Ward, George Fallding, Louise Greenhead and they’d also like to thank the weather for providing the opportunity to play on their splendid grass courts.
