Exmouth power lifter Kye Yabsley was in action at a national event in Tiverton last weekend.

Competing in the 100kg category, Yabsley dished up the second highest total weight lift of the day, lifting an impressive 645kg.

As part of that lift he achieved a 242.5kg squat, a new British record!

The rest of his days big lift compromised a 142.5KG bench press and a 260KG dead-lift.

Yabsley said of his efforts: “I think my training could have perhaps been a little different to help me increase the weights on a couple of my lifts. However, I was pleased with what I achieved and would like to say a great big thank you to everyone at Bodywise gym in Exmouth for their help with my training and the amount of people that turned up on the day for the support. That backing really does make a big difference.”
