Exmouth pot Devon Inter league snooker success

Exmouth opened their Devon Inter League Snooker account with a three farmes to two victory at Exeter C.

However, they made hard work for themselves! After Iain Callander 44-63 and Carl Rowsell 16-59 lost the two opening frames, Mark Rock 54 (25)-13, Dion Newcombe 66-7 set up the decider which George Webster clinched 53-35.

In the Exmouth League, Police Social Club A hold a single point lead despite losing to second place, Police C. They led 2-1 with Carl Rowsell 96-59 and Mike Delahaye 67-65 before Trevor Haylock 58-35 and John Parrott 76-56 added to John Anderson’s opener 77-52.

Still keeping third place despite slipping back two points, Number Nine A, with Dion Newcombe 83-49 and a walk over for Tim Parker, were beaten in five frames by Johnathan Duck 68-57, Tim Thorn 49-43 and Dave Mc Carthy 67-39.

The best win of the week was recorded by Police B, but, after John Spamer 62-52, Tom Skinner 54-26, Ashley Down 96-36 and Bob Horton 76-32 saw only the second frame go to East Budleigh’s Trevor Hayman 60-21, they stay at the foot of the table.
