Exmouth into last four of Devon Inter-League snooker championship

Exmouth have progressed to the semi-final of the Devon Inter-League Snooker for the Gerald Mitchell Trophy with an emphatic 3-0 win over Barnstaple B.

After Iain Callander clinched the opening frame 58-41, both Mark Rock 67-12 and Carl Rowsell 63(35)-3 eased into the last four with a stunning display of long potting.

In the domestic League, the Police Social Club C are the new leaders as Steve Spinner 62-37, John Parrott 41-38, John Anderson 46-13 and John Evens 64-53 were denied maximum points by Otterton A’s Morley Martin 69-41.

With East Budleigh A’s match postponed, they are overtaken by the Number Nine B for second place.

Dave McCarthy 63-32, John Sharland 44-41, Tim Thorn 70-52, Russell Frame 67-56 and Jonathan Duck 58-37 despatched East Budleigh C by 5 frames to nil.

Defending champions, Police A slipped to 4th, place losing at home to the Number Nine A. George Webster 57-48 and Pete Abrahams 49-24 were level with Iain Callander 57-46 and Dennis Robb w/o, but, fell in the decider to Dion Newcombe 43-34.
