Exmouth Harriers men’s team achieved an impressive third place overall in the virtual Ekiden Relays with a superb time of 2 hours 22 minutes 52 seconds, just missing second place by 11 seconds.
Exmouth Harriers Mixed Team A were 15th team overall and 6th Mixed Team in 2.52.45 and the Exmouth Harriers Mixed Team B were 27th team overall and 14th Mixed Team in 3.12.56.
The Ekiden Virtual Relay consists of six legs of distances, all of which add up to the marathon distance. Teams must complete this challenge within a 48-hour window, in accordance with government guidelines.
Runners can run a maximum of two legs for the same team, therefore a team needs a minimum of three runners, up to a maximum of six runners.
