Exmouth Harriers’ Kelly Thomas and Chris Murrin ran in the Plym Trail Marathon and finished together in a great time of 3 hours 58 minutes and 8 seconds. Kelly was the 3rd Female finisher and Chris was 9th Male finisher.
Amanda McCann, Lisa Hatchard, Hayley Johns, Alice Kelly, Nicola Kelly and Becky Matthews ran in a superb self-navigating event put on by Climb South West that started and finished on the Budleigh Salterton seafront, covering some of the biggest climbs in East Devon and took in trig points at High Peak, Weston Cliff, Buckton Hill, Beacon Hill, Aylesbeare, Woodbury, Black Hill and West Down Beacon.
Amanda and Lisa competed in the 8 Trigs race that covered approximately 33 miles and took in over 5,000 feet of climbing. They ran as a team and finished in 18th position in an amazing time of 8 hours and 8 minutes.
“It really is a fabulous event made all the better with the perfect running conditions; warm but with a cool breeze,” said Amanda. “Spectacular scenery but by the time we’d got to Weston after all the climbing, was wondering how on earth we were going to manage another 20 miles.”
Hayley, Alice, Nicola and Becky competed in the 5 Trigs race that covered approximately 22 miles and over 2,500 feet of climbing. Hayley, Alice & Nicola ran as a team and finished in 16th position in a time of 4 hours and 42 minutes. Becky finished in 48th position in 7 hours and 19 minutes.
Lisa Hatchard and Chris Murrin ran in the Dorset Ooser Marathon (26.2 miles off-road) at Turners Puddle near Bere Regis. Chris finished in 4 hours 26 minutes and Lisa finished in 5 hours 38 minutes.
Amazingly, Lisa raced 60 very tough miles in 24 hours and Chris competed in two marathons in two weeks and now that puts him on a total of 83 in his quest to run 100 marathons.
Emma White and Rob Parker ran in the Tough Runner Epic Trail 10km at Escot Park. Emma finished in 155th place in 50.14 and Rob finished in 586th in 65.31.
