The sunshine over the weekend tempted a few Exmouth Harriers to put on their racing shoes in a couple of challenging Westcountry events.
Hannah Bown finished in 55th place in 3 hours 11 minutes and 59 seconds in the Shepperdine Marathon in Gloucestershire. It was a fantastic run on a challenging course in cold and blustery conditions that gives Hannah a qualifying time for next year’s Virgin London Marathon.
At the same event, Oliver and Des White competed in the 1/2 Marathon with Oliver finishing in 25th place in a new personal best time of 1 hour 16 minutes and 54 seconds. Des finished in 97th place overall and recorded the fastest time in the Men’s over 60 age category with a time of 1 hour 28 minutes and 21 seconds.
Catarina Gonçalves competed in LM Events 1/2 Marathon, a tough multi-terrain 13.1 miles that took in the coastal path between Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth. Catarina finished in 1 hour 40 minutes and was 2nd Lady overall, a great result on a challenging course.
