Last week saw some great running from the Exmouth Harriers at this month’s Devon County Cross Country Championships at Exeter Arena, writes Kate Baker.

Despite the mud, Tom Merson came in third overall to secure the bronze medal, whilst Anthony Hatchard took the gold medal and Dave Stone won bronze in the M45 category.

There was also a gold medal win for Jenny Reay in the W60 category, Des White won the gold for the M60 category, and the first and second men’s teams won gold and silver respectively.

With 11 runners for the men and three for the women’s teams, this made up the third race in the Westward League series - the next will be at Westward Ho! in January.
