Ryan Snell seems to be on a quest to run more foreign marathons than any other Exmouth Harrier and this mission took him to Frankfurt on Sunday, writes Cathy Newman.

Having set a personal best of 16:36 at the Exmouth Parkrun the previous week, he was clearly in good form; the conditions, however, were not as good as in Exmouth the previous week with a strong headwind in much of the second half of the race.

Nevertheless, Ryan ran his fastest marathon of 2018 beating his London Marathon time with 2:35:27.

With this time, Ryan is currently ranked 56th in the UK for his 35-39 age group; he will be hoping to improve this ranking when he takes part in the Valencia Marathon later this year.
