Exmouth Harrier Ryan Snell ran a big personal best in finishing seventh in the Salisbury 10-mile event on Sunday, writes Cathy Newman.

His time of 56:02 suggests that he is in good shape for the London marathon in two weeks’ time.

In Taunton, Des White was again winner of the M60 category in the popular half marathon whilst wife Alison was second in the F60 category. Chris Murrin was first Exmouth Harrier home in 46th place overall in the full marathon, and that also saw him home as the fourth M50.

Craig Butler was the first Harrier home in the half marathon with 1:34.13.

Mick Allen was sixth in the M70 category.

Running his second marathon this year, Martin Collins was 400th overall in the Manchester marathon with a time of 4:22.30 - this was a personal best.
