Exmouth’s Cricket Club has recently undertaken a huge renovation carried out by ‘East Of Exe Construction' for the first time in many years and the club has been completely transformed from what it was.
The ambition and objective for the project is to ‘bring back cricket’, and create a space for families and the public to enjoy, as well as the cricketers and current members to have a nice place to play and be proud of.
There is a small outside bar called ‘The Terrace Bar’ with a patio area to watch the cricket from outside, as well as the Pavilion, which is the larger inside bar and there are glass windows surrounding an extended glass decking area that will be finished in June, providing sensational views to watch the cricket and look at the ocean.
Both bars are open to the public, as well as members, so everyone is welcome.
Please visit our website, www.exmouthjournal.co.uk, for a superb video on the renovations and we will have more news once the work is complete.
On the pitch, it is a packed June for the Exmouth cricketers, with the matches this weekend including the first-team welcoming Bovery Tracey, while the seconds travel to Ottery St Mary and the thirds are away to Kentisbeare.
The juniors take over on Sunday with games against Sidmouth and Bathampton. Midweek fixtures for the youngsters include games with Sidmouth, Kentisbeare and Topsham St James.
East Devon cricket fans will also be looking forward to a compelling local derby on June 19, when Exmouth travel to Sidmouth for what should be a thrilling encounter.
On that same weekend, the seconds will play host to Whimple and the thirds travel to Cheriton Fitzpaine.
The first-team complete the month with a visit from Hatherleigh on June 26, while the seconds take on Shrobrook Park and the thirds face Topsham St James.
It is a packed schedule and the match-day experience at the Maer Ground is set to become even more special as we head through the summer.
