Exmouth badminton ace Ben Lane has made an impressive start to the new season.

After winning the doubles title in Slovakia he travelled to Lancashire where he won the mixed doubles title with regular partner Jess Pugh and also came runner-up in the men’s doubles with Devon and ex- international Matt Corby.

There was no rest for Lane who then travelled to the Under-19 Wimbledon international tournament.

In the mixed doubles Lane and Jess Pugh battled their way through to the final where they meet Lane’s men’s doubles partner Sean Vendy from Buckingham and Lydia Powel.

In a close three set match Lane and Pugh won 16-21, 21-19, 21-15,

Lane then partnered Vendy to beat Angus Pederson and Matt Widdicombe 21-11, 22-20 to take his second title of the day.

Over the next month Lane will be competing in Switzerland and Denmark and also taking part in the new national badminton league playing for the Milton Keynes stars which will be shown on Sky Sports 3 on October.
