The University of Exeter have won the Devon Football League mini tournament after defeating Teignmouth 4-2 in an entertaining final.
The tournament was devised by officials from the Scott Richards Solicitors DFL after the season was cut short by Covid restrictions.
In the first two years of its existence, Covid has prevented the DFL from completing a campaign but hopes are high for a full season this time around.
Organised into two leagues of South & West, and North & East, the DFL sits between the Peninsula League and the Devon and Exeter League in the football pyramid.
Teams in the North & East Division for the forthcoming season will include Alphington, Braunton, Budleigh Salterton, Clyst Valley, Chudleigh Athletic, Exeter University, Exmouth Town Reserves, Exwick Villa, Feniton, Heavitree United, Liverton United, Newtown, North Molton, St Martins, Topsham Town and Teignmouth.
