Exe fifth XI powered back to winnings ways with a 4-1 success at home to Plymouth Marjon.
Helen Tully create the opportunity for Bridie Marlow to fire Exe ahead, but the early goal failed to settle Exe and the Plymouth side came back well to level courtesy of a short corner.
Just before the break Exe won a short corner and skipper Kelly Barrett powered the ball across the D where Player of the Match Nicole Thackeray deflected it into the goal. In the second half Exe began to relax and play some pacey hockey. The defence tightened right up with some exceptional tackling on display, particularly Helen Bray and Emma White whilst midfielders Becky Fagg and Kat Harris used a mixture of quick thinking and pace to get the ball as quickly as possible into the Marjon D.
The third goal was a direct result of a Tully and Marlow combination with Tully providing the assists and Marlow the finish. It was Tully who completed the scoring when she rifled the ball home from the back of the D.
