Exe Sailing Club held a well-supported ‘Volunteers Night’ at the clubhouse.
In his ‘thank-you’ speech to the 128 volunteers in attendance, the Exe SC club commodore underlined just how important they are, saying: “You volunteers are the lifeblood of our club.”
During the evening, Deborah Tyler, Exe Sailing Club’s communications officer, presented a cheque for £675. This was a splendid sum raised for the RNLI by club members during the year. The cheque presentation was made to Steve Hockings-Thompson, who is the coxswain of the Exmouth Lifeboat. In addition to the cheque presentation, a further £270 was raised on the evening.
