Exe II edged out in close encounter at Bude

Bude 2, Exe II 1

Exe II were edged out on the North Cornwall coast.

The first half saw the hosts dominate possession and territory, but could only muster a single goal lead to take into the break.

After the break Exe had more attacking intent to their game, but they fell 2-0 down to a slick counter-attacking goal.

Emma Scott caused the home side’s defence problems throughout whilst Player of the Match Mel Vaggers was the inspiration in central midfield and her drag flick goal from a penalty corner was fully deserved.

Exe pressed hard for the equaliser, but unfortunately it was not to be.
