Exe II edged out by Marjon

A disallowed goal proved costly as Exe II went down 1-0 at Plymouth Marjons.
In an even first half Exe thought they had taken the lead when Fi Moran’s penalty corner strike rattled the backboard, but the umpires deemed that it was too high. Helena Nichols went close twice, but it remained goalless through to the break.
In the second half Plymouth had more possession. However, clever marshalling from Players’ of the Match Sian Williams and Anna Karakusevic meant that little threat was posed. The match-deciding moment came 15 minutes from time with Marjons edging ahead and thereafter, try as they did, Exe could not find an equaliser.
