The Final saw teenager Bradley Evans come up against the might of veteran Dennis Webb.

Evans, using a club bat with reasonable success, and with just an occasional hint of the vicious Chinese top-spin that was seen at the Beijing Olympics, manged to win a close encouter 11-7, 11-6.

Earlier, Charlie Williams had won the junior trophy with an 11-8, 11-5 win against Jake Evans. These two finals followed a threehour, skills contest, at which almost 400 attempts had taken place at the various disciplines.

Three winners shared £30 in prize money and all participants agreed it was all great fun.
