In the first of four Foxlands matches to be played before the end of March, Budleigh took on Dawlish, scoring 6 points.
Playing at home, Joan Shaw's team of Pat Pearson, Pat Dowen and Lilian Grainger were 9-2 ahead at 7 ends but level 10-10 at 10 ends.
A strong finish with 7 shots scored on the last end gave a 28-16 win. Yvonne Smith, Bunty Hudson, Dorothy MacConville and Jane Hincks (skip) went down 15-23 after a ding-dong game.
Playing away at Dawlish it was again a one win, one loss situation with Dianzee Lowe's rink of Lorna Autton, Avis Bartlett and Marilyn Jackson racing through to a 23-10 win and a precious two points.
Team-mates Diane Dixon (skip), Rita de Selincourt, Joan Evans and Teresa Rivers, despite making every effort, could not hold back the opposition and their final score was 12-25.
Budleigh's club competitions have been delayed and postponed due to bad weather and illness but, in the Ladies' Singles, a semi-final stage has been reached.
Club indoor captain Lilian Grainger will play Dianzee Lowe and Dorothy MacConville will play the winner of the quarter-final match between Joan Shaw and Dawn Graham.
